November 2022 - Present
Technical Lead, Senior Software Engineer, Coforma
- Technical lead on a greenfield project started from knowing 1 line about the goal of the project, leading a team of 4-6 engineers from the discovery phase, all the way to our successful production release within the course of 1 year.
- Work within a nationwide government infrastructure discovering and connecting various APIs, systems, and databases to collate and build the most comprehensive and accurate data for our application.
- Manage a full engineering team with regular 1-1's, engineering huddles, PR review processes, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring we are in alignment with our engineering and product goals.
- Lead and work with our engineering team to build a modern React application with data visualization components, a calendar component built from scratch, and a custom design system library.
- Built a Python proxy API, pulling data from 5+ different API's and systems, incorporating 3 different authentication schemes, transforming data from the original API into a clean response for our front-end, while solving challenging networking, logging, monitoring, and data quality issues along the way.
- Meet regularly with our PO and PM to understand and transform their goals and requirements for the project into actionable work, discussing the pros, cons, and potential challenges for each feature, always with the end-goal of implementing their vision, while maintaining high-quality code and engineering work-life balance.

April 2018 - July 2021
Software Engineer, Coupa/Opus
- Served on modernization initiative's lead team that made new architectural decisions, rebuilding a massive monolithic application into a micro-service architecture, setting the standard for future projects. Collaborated with designers and product owners to establish new design patterns.
- Developed new application utilizing an Angular front end, .NET API back end, SQL and Mongo DBs, along with messaging and service calls utilizing RabbitMQ and SignalR. to establish new design patterns.
- Lead project and collaborated with multiple external teams to create a new React widget within a Ruby on Rails application that combined internal data and external API calls into one seamless display.
- Worked closely with DevOps to build an admin application that could create a brand new tenant database complete with customer specific configuration. Reducing an 8 hour process down to 5 minutes.
- Utilized Python, Apache Spark, and Jupyter Notebooks to query and create automated Amazon EMR jobs that processed and manipulated customer data.

June 2016 - April 2018
Web Developer II, Oncology Nursing Society
- Developed full-stack web applications, including a certiļ¬cation preparation application, a fundraising payment website, and an internal administration platform for course enrollment.
- Served as core developer on new project to build a web application involving a new database/schema, a .NET API back end, and an Angular front end.
- Guided web designer in styling externally-hosted dynamic JavaScript controls in order to integrate custom design changes into our Angular applications.
- Served on team that developed a new SSO integration, combining calls to 12+ vendors and services into one seamless application.
- Maintained VB and .NET legacy systems by working on bugs and support tickets
- Worked face-to-face with end users and business stakeholders, creating SQL reports for their analysis and operations.
Hmm...what else?

I graduated from Slippery Rock University in 2016 with a major in Computer Science and a
minor in Information Technology.

I spent 9 months hiking both the Appalachian Trail and the Pacific Crest Trail in 2021/2022, totaling over 4,500 miles hiked in a year.

I spend my free time tinkering with projects and ideas I like.
That about wraps it up.
Please reach out to me. I would love to hear from you!
